Marvel Comics Announces Cancellation of Nine Titles
Marvel has announced that they will be canceling nine of their current titles to make way for their upcoming Marvel NOW! relaunch. The following nine titles will be getting the axe in October, the very same month that the Marvel NOW! relaunch is expected to begin.
- Captain America #19
- Fantastic Four #611
- FF #23
- Incredible Hulk #15
- Invincible Iron Man #527
- New Mutants #50
- The Mighty Thor #22
- Uncanny X-Men #20
- X-Men Legacy #275
While many fans may find themselves upset to hear about these cancellations, it still remains to be seen as to whether or not any (or all) of these titles will be relaunched as part of Marvel’s new #1 books. Chances are, Uncanny Avengers will be taking the place of Uncanny X-Men as the latter title was launched just under a year ago.
What do you think of Marvel’s upcoming Marvel NOW! initiative? Do you feel that Marvel needed to streamline and modernize their current titles or did they have a good thing going already?
