LucasArts gave us our very first look at Star Wars: 1313 at E3 2012 this year, debuting new gameplay footage packed with visual effects of incredible-looking Jedi battles. Now, LucasArts is using the same footage featured at Gamescom to show fans of the Star Wars franchise what Star Wars 1313 is shaping up to be with this more in-depth trailer.
The demo gives us a closer look of the vehicles and several environmental shots with exquisite detail showing every last bolt, stretch, and scrape. Taking place between the events of Episode III and Episode IV, players will take on the role of a bounty hunter whose base of operations lay in the seedy underworld of Coruscant.
“Star Wars 1313, for us, is our first mature-themed game at LucasArts,” states Craig Derrick, producer at LucasArts. “It’s about playing as a bounty hunter in the most dangerous place in the galaxy – the ruthless criminal underworld of Coruscant’s Level 1313. More simply, though, the game is really about three things.
“[Star Wars 1313] is about what it means to be a bounty hunter, it’s about surviving this dangerous world, and for us as developers, it’s about delivering a playable, cinematic experience.”
Unlike Star Wars: Force Unleashed 2, the upcoming title appears to be faster paced, focusing more on gadgetry and weapon based combat rather than force and lightsaber combat. Even though the game’s more particular details have yet to be released, LucasArts has won best of show as it promises a more mature and gritty direction at the Star Wars universe.
