Rob Liefeld Makes Abrupt Exit From DC Comics, Criticizing Management

Rob Liefeld has made the official announcement that he will making an abrupt departure from DC Comics, arriving on the heels of his earlier hints that he may wind up leaving superhero comics altogether.

Liefeld hasn’t opted to go quietly into the night, however, firing off a round of tweets criticizing DC’s editors and the overall handling of the ‘New 52′ initiative. The creator currently has three titles amongst the New 52 that he contributes to, Deathstroke, Grifter and The Savage Hawkman, yet took to Twitter this morning and announced that the upcoming ‘zero’ issues will be his last work on all three titles.

“Officially got off the DC52 treadmill this morning,” he wrote, adding, “I believe in what DC is doing, but had to preserve my sanity. I walked off all 3 books. Can’t wait to see any attempts to spin. I have every email.”

“Don’t look for any tell all interview with me,” Liefeld added. “Just follow this feed. … the best stuff has not been shared — not even close!”

Are you sad to see Liefeld off of the New 52 titles?
