Jim Lee Stepping Down From ‘Justice League’, Ivan Reis and Joe Prado to Join

DC Comics has announced a major shuffling of their creative teams for Justice League, revealing that Ivan Reis and Joe Prado will be joining Geoff Johns on the title following the departure of artist Jim Lee. Reis and Prado are expected to take over illustrative duties for the series with the arrival of Justice League #15, which is due to arrive in December. In fact, with an announced solicitation revealing that a fill in team will be handling Justice League #14 and with the ‘Zero’ issue being illustrated by Gary Frank, it appears that Jim Lee’s last work as a series regular is already on store shelves!

Both of these artists have worked with Geoff Johns in the past on such titles as Green Lantern (Reis) and Aquaman (Prado) and are sure to bring a great deal of energy to DC’s flagship title.

“There is no other choice for the next A-Star art team on ‘Justice League,'” Geoff Johns told Buzzfeed. “Ivan Reis and Joe Prado bring power, grace, emotion and epic storytelling worthy of the world’s greatest super heroes. From ‘Green Lantern’ to ‘Blackest Night’ to ‘Aquaman,’ I couldn’t ask for better collaborators. The second year of ‘Justice League’ will begin an adventurous, mysterious and heroic storyline focusing on our members as their greatest secrets are revealed…and the repercussions change the world. Ivan and Joe begin with a story they were born to draw — ‘Throne of Atlantis’ — a story between ‘Justice League’ and ‘Aquaman’ that will have the League experiencing what Aquaman does — they’ll be caught between land and sea. With new relationships developing — like Wonder Woman and Superman — new members coming on — like Shazam! and the all-new Atom — and new threats rising — like Ocean Master & Atlantis — the Justice League will grow and change as we march towards the impending ‘Trinity War.'”

Justice League #15 arrives in stores on December 26th.
