Michael Clarke Duncan, a tremendously talented actor best known for his Oscar-nominated work in The Green Mile and several notable comic book films as Daredevil, Green Lantern and Sin City, has reportedly passed away at age 54. According to initial reports, it appears that the actor went into cardiac arrest early this morning and was rushed to the hospital shortly thereafter. Unfortunately, little could be done for the actor and his fiancée confirmed his passing later in the day.
Despite his incredible (and best known) work in The Green Mile, most of our readers will recognize Michael Clarke Duncan as the man who took on the role of Kingpin, opposite Ben Affleck in Daredevil. He also portrayed Manute in the film adaptation of Frank Miller’s Sin City and even managed to voice Kilowog in Warner Bros.’ Green Lantern.
It’s a sad day for comic book movie fans, indeed.
