A new poster has arrived for Silent Hill: Revelation 3D, the upcoming sequel to one of the finer video adaptations to explore the survival horror genre. Directed by Michael J. Bassett, the sequel will reportedly take a great deal of inspiration from Capcom’s Silent Hill 3 , and introduces audiences to a new lead character, Heather Mason (Clemens), while bringing back actors Radha Mitchell and Sean Bean in their roles from the original.
The first Silent Hill, released in 2006, was a critical box-office disappointment but went on to develop a loyal cult following due to the films striking visuals and haunting storytelling that many found to be reminiscent of the original games. Sony distributed the original film, directed by Christophe Gans, while Open Road has now acquired the U.S. rights for Michael J. Bassett’s sequel the and plans to release the survivor horror feature on October 26th.
