Marvel Studios has released a slew of new stills from Shane Black’s Iron Man 3, arriving just ahead of the first official trailer that will be released at midnight tonight. In addition to the latest round of stills, which include shots of the “Iron Patriot” armor and Ben Kingley as The Mandarin, Marvel has also managed to slip out the first official teaser poster. The two sets of images were released through ReelBits, Entertainment Weekly and USA Today, with the ladder accompanying the following quote from Kevin Feige.
He basically loses all of his toys and is forced to just use his mind to rebuild and to face his biggest enemy… He’s ultimately the engineering superhero. He’s so charming and so flamboyant that sometimes you forget that’s what he is: ‘Hey, kids, learn this stuff and you can maybe build an Iron Man suit.’
The new stills arrive after Marvel unveiled an 18-second teaser montage for the upcoming trailer, which was posted after fans “unlocked” the content through the official Facebook page for the film. Shane Black’s upcoming installment in the Iron Man franchise will be the the first Marvel movie to launch Phase 2 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, culminating in the eventual sequel to Joss Whedon’s monumental blockbuster, The Avengers.
