Scott Snyder Set to Leave DC Comics’ “Swamp Thing”

According to a recent report on Bleeding Cool, it appears as though Scott Snyder will soon be leaving his position as the writer of DC Comics’ “Swamp Thing.” The report arrives on the heels of the abrupt news that Gail Simone will be leaving “Batgirl”, although Snyder’s departure appears to have occurred in a much different fashion (see earlier story).

Snyder has been heading up the writing duties for “Swamp Thing” in addition to the main “Batman” title ever since the launch of the New 52 last year. He’s worked his magic on bringing the intense ‘Rotworld’ storyline to readers where the character of Alec Holland has been brought back into the fold and has crossed over into Jeff Lemire’s critically acclaimed “Animal Man” title. Now, with “Batman” still going strong as well as his popular “American Vampire” series, “The Wake” Vertigo mini-series with artist Sean Murphy, and his highly anticipated Superman title with Jim Lee, it appears as though Snyder will be leaving “Swamp Thing” to make room for some major undertakings in the near future.

How do you feel about his departure from the series? Would you have rather seen him leave “Batman?”
