First Trailer Arrives For ‘Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs 2′

The first official trailer for Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs 2 has arrived, following the surprise animated hit of 2009 that was based on the book by Judi and Ron Barrett. The wildly successful CGI film went on to make $246 million at the box office and highlighted the sharp comedic talents of writer/director team Phil Lord and Christopher Miller.
Combining odd (yet witty) humor with strong Disney-esque storytelling, Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs thrilled audiences around the world, many of whom were taken by surprise by the film’s quality of writing and gorgeous animation. Sadly, Lord and Miller will not be returning for the sequel and only time will tell if the heart and soul of the first film can carry over into the sequel.
It’s always been Flint’s dream to be recognized as a great inventor, but everything changes when he discovers that his most infamous machine — which turns water into food — is still operating and is now creating mutant food beasts. With the fate of humanity in his hands, Flint and his friends must embark on a dangerously delicious mission, battling hungry tacodiles, shrimpanzees, apple pie-thons, double bacon cheespiders and other food creatures to save the world… again!
Directed by Cody Cameron and Kris Pearn, Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs 2 features the voices of Bill Hader, Anna Faris, Will Forte, Andy Samberg, and Kristen Schaal and will be released in theaters on September 27th, 2013.
