Papercutz has revealed that they will be launching an all-new line of Mighty Morphin Power rangers graphic novels from writer Stefan Petrucha and artist PH Marcondes! The upcoming venture will be the first time that a line of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers books have been developed since Marvel and Hamilton released their respective miniseries back in 1995.
Described as a companion piece to Saban’s 1993-1995 television series, the new line of books will launch in 2014 and will take place very early on in the show’s canon – before Green/White Ranger Tommy Oliver made his first appearance. Fans can rest assured that Rita Repulsa will be returning to the series as well an all-new and yet-to-be-revealed villain.
Writer Stefan Petrucha had the following to say when talking about the canon of the upcoming series.
“Will all of the volumes take place within the events of the original TV series? Maybe. Maybe not… If we were to have stories that didn’t take place within the events of the original series, how would we do so? How’s that for a tease!”
