Warner Bros. has released the final theatrical trailer for Man of Steel before Zack Snyder’s highly anticipated Superman movie arrives next month. The latest full-length trailer features a menacing General Zod, brilliantly portrayed by actor Michael Shannon, who broadcasts a special message directed to our planet’s sole Kryptonian inhabitant – surrender or Earth shall “suffer the consequences.”

In the pantheon of superheroes, Superman is the most recognized and revered character of all time. Clark Kent/Kal-El (Henry Cavill) is a young twenty-something journalist who feels alienated by powers beyond his imagination. Transported years ago to Earth from Krypton, a highly advanced, distant planet, Clark struggles with the ultimate question ‘Why am I here?’ Shaped by the values of his adoptive parents Martha (Lane) and Jonathan Kent (Costner), Clark discovers having extraordinary abilities means making difficult decisions. When the world is in dire need of stability, an even greater threat emerges. Clark must become a Man of Steel, to protect the people he loves and shine as the world’s beacon of hope – Superman.

Directed by Zack Snyder, Man of Steel stars Henry Cavill, Diane Lane, Kevin Costner, Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne, Michael Shannon, Russell Crowe and Ayelet Zurer and is scheduled to arrive in theaters on June 14th, 2013.

20th Century Fox has released a new full length trailer for The Wolverine, giving us an action-packed look at the upcoming pseudo-sequel from director James Mangold. Despite the explosive action we’re shown as the Wolverine takes on Viper, Silver Samurai and a small army of ninjas, it’s the first few moments of the trailer that really packs an emotional punch.

The trailer begins with Wolverine waking up beside Jean Grey, one again portrayed by Famke Janssen, as she asks the lone warrior, “Where were you?” He replies, “Oh Jean, I am so sorry. I will never hurt you or anyone again.” She then quietly whispers into his ear, “It’s too late,” as he slowly looks down and sees that his claws have torn into the woman he loves, abruptly waking him from the chilling nightmare.

Based on the celebrated comic book arc, this epic action-adventure takes Wolverine, the most iconic character of the X-Men universe, to modern day Japan. Out of his depth in an unknown world he faces his ultimate nemesis in a life-or-death battle that will leave him forever changed. Vulnerable for the first time and pushed to his physical and emotional limits, he confronts not only lethal samurai steel but also his inner struggle against his own immortality, emerging more powerful than we have ever seen him before.

Directed by James Mangold, The Wolverine stars Hugh Jackman, Hiroyuki Sanada, Tao Okamoto, Rila Fukushima, Will Yun Lee, Hal Yamanouchi, Brian Tee, and Svetlana Khodchenkova and will arrive in theaters on July 26, 2013.

Microsoft made some big announcements earlier today during the press event where they unveiled the company’s next console, the Xbox One, but another very exciting piece of news was the announcement that a new live-action Halo TV series is in the works. Not only is this a big deal in itself, but the project also carries some serious star power with it as Microsoft confirmed that the series will be created in partnership with 343 Industries and director Steven Spielberg.

While not in attendance at the event, Spielberg did offer a brief statement for attendees.

“I wish I could be there with you today in person, but like all of you here today I’ve been playing games for decades. I even started playing Pong in 1974. And over the years that experience has exploded from the simple pixels of Pong to worlds that are as immersive as, and certainly more physically interactive than those portrayed on the silver screen. And those stories have gotten more compelling as technology has certainly improved.

“So for me, the Halo universe is an amazing opportunity to be at that intersection where technology and myth-making meet, to produce something really groundbreaking. I’m incredibly excited about the great journey we are all on, the heroes, worlds, and wonders that Halo will take us on.”

While few details were revealed at the press event, we do know that the “premium” series will be exclusive to the Xbox One. As to whether or not fans will be expected to pay a per-episode rate or monthly subscribtion fee is still unknown, but the fact that Microsoft uses the term “premium” leads may to believe that fans will indeed have to pay for the series in one form or another.

Sony Computer Entertainment has released a brand new video featuring concept footage for Gran Turismo 6, the highly anticipated racer from Polyphony Digital. While details on the next installment in the Gran Turismo series have been scarce, the upcoming title is set to introduce a new course maker on top of the 33 courses already included in the game and will also include over 1200 vehicles (all of which can be customized) for players to take to the streets.

In addition to sporting a revamped user interface, Gran Turismo 6 will also boast a new compact game engine that is expected to take the driving simulator to a new level of performance as well as allow for better compatibility with future downloadable content.

Sony Computer Entertainment has announced that a demo for the game will be released in July with many more details expected to be revealed at next month’s E3.

Disney has announced that they are developing a brand new animated series titled Star Wars Rebels, which will attempt to fill in the timeline of events that took place between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope. Aimed to replace the fan-favorite Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated series, the upcoming project is currently scheduled launch on the Disney Channel before moving to Disney XD in Fall 2014.

Simon Kinberg, the screenwriter behindX-Men: Days of Future Past and writer of one of the upcoming Star Wars spinoff films, will be drafting the first episode of Star Wars Rebels, which will introduce viewers to a world where “the Empire is securing its grip on the galaxy and hunting down the last of the Jedi Knights as a fledgling rebellion against the Empire is taking shape.” He will continue to serve as an executive producer of the series after the arrival of the first episode.

Fans of The Clone Wars may find some comfort in knowing that executive producers Greg Weisman and Dave Filoni will also be joining Star Wars Rebels. Filoni was the supervising director of The Clone Wars, a title that he will continue to carry over to Star Wars Rebels, which gives us hope that some of the characters (ie, Anakin Skywalker’s Jedi apprentice, Ahsoka) and storylines from the recently canceled Clone Wars series may continue to be fleshed out in the upcoming series.

Production has begun on Star Wars Rebels, an exciting, all-new animated television series based on one of the greatest entertainment franchises of all time. Scheduled to premiere in fall 2014 as a one-hour special telecast on Disney Channel, it will be followed by a series on Disney XD channels around the world.

Leading the development of the series is a creative team of exceptional talent. Screenwriter/producer Simon Kinberg (X-Men: First Class, Sherlock Holmes, Mr. & Mrs. Smith) is an executive producer on Star Wars Rebels and will write the premiere episode. He is joined by Dave Filoni as executive producer, who served as supervising director of the Emmy nominated Star Wars: The Clone Wars since 2008. Executive producer Greg Weisman brings with him a wealth of animation experience with credits such as Young Justice, The Spectacular Spider-Man and Gargoyles.

Gary Marsh, president and chief creative officer, Disney Channels Worldwide, said, “The entire team at Lucasfilm has provided extraordinary creativity and innovation for over three decades, and we’re thrilled to be bringing the expansive and imaginative world of Star Wars to Disney XD’s viewers.”

“I couldn’t be more excited to explore new corners of the Star Wars universe,” said Kathleen Kennedy, president, Lucasfilm. “I think Star Wars Rebels will capture the look, feel and fun that both kids and their parents love about Star Wars.”

The action-filled series is set between the events of Episode III and IV — an era spanning almost two decades never-before explored on-screen. Star Wars Rebels takes place in a time where the Empire is securing its grip on the galaxy and hunting down the last of the Jedi Knights as a fledgling rebellion against the Empire is taking shape. Details about the show are a closely guarded secret at this point.

Star Wars Rebels will be produced by Lucasfilm Animation, featuring many of the key talents that made Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Fans attending Star Wars Celebration Europe will be the first to get an exclusive look at the new series. Casting will be announced at a later date. Warner Bros. has released the first full trailer for Batman: Arkham Origins, the upcoming prequel to the critically acclaimed Arkham titles that came before. The impressive 5-minute trailer arrives on the heels of the first official teaser trailer for the game which arrived on Friday and while the teaser only gave us a glimpse of the Dark Knight in action, the latest trailer gives us a glorious, pre-rendered fight sequence as Batman takes on the lethal assassin known as Deathstroke.

Currently being developed by Warner Bros. Games Montreal in place of Rocksteady Studios, the folks behind the two first titles, Arkham Origins will take place long before the events in the Arkham Asylum and Arkham City titles, focusing on a less-experienced Batman as he runs up against the supervillains of Gotham City for the first time.

Batman: Arkham Origins features an expanded Gotham City and introduces an original prequel storyline occurring several years before the events of Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City. Taking place before the rise of Gotham City’s most dangerous villains and assassins, the game showcases a young, raw, unrefined Batman as he faces a defining moment in his early career as a crime fighter that sets his path to becoming the Dark Knight. As the story unfolds, witness identities being formed and key relationships being forged.

Batman: Arkham Origins will arrive on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii U, and PC on October 25 while a spin-off title called Arkham Origins Blackgate will launch the same day for the 3DS and Vita.

Longtime DC Comics writer James Robinson made the announcement over the weekend that he will no longer be authoring “Earth 2″ after arrival of issue #16, nor will he be continuing to work for the publisher after his departure. Best known for his work on the critically acclaimed “Starman” series, “Justice Society of America” and “Legends of the Dark Knight” Robinson has enjoyed a long and plentiful relationship with DC since the early 1990s.

The news originally broke when Robinson took to Twitter, announcing his departure from the series and leaving fans curious about what could have sparked his abrupt decision just a few short months after laying out his long-term plans for the series at WonderCon.

CBS has released a new full-length trailer for Under The Dome, the small screen adaptation of Stephen King’s bestselling science fiction novel first published in 2009. The first episode of the series is written by Brian K. Vaughan and will be directed by Niels Oplev Arden (Girl with the Dragon Tattoo), telling the story a small American town that suddenly finds itself surrounded by a strange and other-worldly invisible dome that effectively isolates the town from the rest of the world.

On an entirely normal, beautiful fall day in Chester’s Mill, Maine, the town is inexplicably and suddenly sealed off from the rest of the world by an invisible force field. Planes crash into it and fall from the sky in flaming wreckage, a gardener’s hand is severed as “the dome” comes down on it, people running errands in the neighboring town are divided from their families, and cars explode on impact. No one can fathom what this barrier is, where it came from, and when—or if—it will go away. Dale Barbara, Iraq vet and now a short-order cook, finds himself teamed with a few intrepid citizens—town newspaper owner Julia Shumway, a physician’s assistant at the hospital, a selectwoman, and three brave kids. Against them stands Big Jim Rennie, a politician who will stop at nothing—even murder—to hold the reins of power, and his son, who is keeping a horrible secret in a dark pantry.
