Marvel has announced that “Deadpool” writer Gerry Duggan will be stepping in as the new series writer for “Nova” following the departure of Zeb Wells after issue #10. Current series artist Paco Medina will continue his illustrative duties when Duggan begins his run with a back-up story in Zeb Wells’ “Nova” #100, which is the tenth issue of the current Marvel NOW! title, but the centennial issue overall. The first series to spin out of Brian Michael Bendis’ “Age of Ultron” has just been announced via USA Today, confirming that writer Sam Humphries and artist Andre Lima Araujo will be helming “Avengers A.I.” this July. The upcoming series will follow a team of robotic heroes that include former Runaway Victor Mancha, a new character named Alexis, Vision, Hank Pym, Monica Chang (SHIELD commander of the 616 Universe) and even a renegade Doombot as they traverse a new Marvel Universe that’s quickly becoming more and more threatened by a new wave of artificial intelligence. Marvel has released another promo image for the upcoming ‘Age of Ultron’ event, giving us some teaser artwork for Age of Ultron #7, illustrated by Brandon Peterson and Carlos Pacheco. Carrying the loaded tagline “Do Or Die,” the teaser features several battle-scarred heroes (Cap’s rocking an eye patch, Cyclop’s melted, etc) as well as, what looks like, an entirely different character taking up the mantle of Captain Marvel. Marvel Comics has officially announced the upcoming new series that was teased in last week’s mysterious DNA strand teaser image, revealing that Brian Wood and Olivier Copiel will be working on a new female X-Men series due to arrive in April. The new series will feature an all-female roster that includes Storm, Psylocke, Rachel Grey, Rogue, Kitty Pryde and Jubilee. The storyline behind the title will focus on Jubilee as the main character as she takes in an orphaned baby that may hold the fate of the survival of the human race. (more..)
